Hi I'm Kara

I love a cop. I'm a mother of three boys. I'm a health nut who enjoys cooking and gardening. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I married very young to a strong, compassionate, family man who happens to be very good looking. Cruising is our favorite way to vacation, and finding good deals on one is his favorite past time. In between, he works on the streets as the cities' best cop. I stay at home and keep busy with our three young boys (3,6,8). Being a mother is the heart of who I am. I am grateful for prayer to a loving Heavenly Father who guides me through this great work. I have a passion for whole foods and natural living. I share my favorite recipes, gardening adventures and research on my blog; Taste is Trump. I value delicious tasting health food made with high quality ingredients. The way we eat definitely sets us apart from the rest! My daily reprieve is racquetball, I have been playing regularly for 5 years. The court is where I unleash my competitive nature! You up for a game?

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the LDS church right out of high school. I had just moved 1500 miles from my family to attend college. Though I wasn't actively looking for new church, it had been something that had been on my mind for years beforehand. I had prayed to find a religion in which I could wholeheartedly put faith in and believe every principle taught. Everything the missionaries taught made perfect sense to me. Though my conversion was fast, my testimony grows little by little. Every answered prayer is subtle, every prompting is quiet, every personal revelation comes piece by piece and every blessing recognized gradually. When I was first baptized, I had no idea of the depth of the gospel. I did't understand every concept or comprehend every scripture. I didn't realize the immense organization that the church was or appreciate the inspired programs. No matter, where I started, where I am now or where I end up, I cannot deny what my heart knows to be true. I have a testimony that my Savior lives, he loves me, the Book of Mormon is inspired writings of prophets and translated by Joseph Smith by the power of God. By reading and applying the words of God, my life has been blessed. When I look back, it is easy to see the hand of the Lord working in my life. I am a Mormon because I seek after truth.

How I live my faith

I serve in church as the leader of the children's organization known as the Primary. What a heavy stewardship to be entrusted with the most tender spirits! Each Sunday we meet together and sing songs and teach from the scriptures. It is a joy to witness their excitement in learning and living the gospel. I work with two counselors and a secretary to plan and strengthen the children and teachers in their duties. We meet regularly to discuss the needs of the primary and to make decisions to increase our effectiveness in teaching the gospel to the youth. We strengthen each other as we work. There is a program in place that I oversee called the Faith in God program, where 8-11 year-olds set goals in areas of learning and living the gospel, serving others and developing talents. In line with the Faith in God program, the children participate in weekly cub scout and girls'activity day meetings. I enjoy being involved and ministering to precious children.
