Hi I'm Jake
I am a student. I volunteer at the local library. I'm a Mormon.
I like a good story. Give me a cool Florida afternoon and a fantasy book and I'm happy. Having a steady supply of snacks certainly wouldn't hurt. Spending time with my family is also key, particularly when we sit down to laugh at the hilarity that is the local evening news. I'm getting ready to go back to college after a year long hiatus that I spent in Kansas and Colorado as a missionary.
Why I am a Mormon
I've always been inquisitive and wanted to know the reason why things are. Growing up as a Mormon provided a lot of those answers. When the decision to know if this was the true church I decided to take the time and ask God for the answer to that question. I waited for a while, almost like waiting for a college acceptance letter. Eventually, not when I expected it, I realized that I had gotten my answer. Being an active member of the Church just makes me happier. Leaving that makes me unhappy. Those questions I have get answered and that is how I know this church is the true church of Jesus Christ.
How I live my faith
I go to church on Sundays. I help with the eleven year old boys in their boyscout troop as they learn how to become respectable young men. I read my scriptures daily to take and active part in answer seeking which is important to me, as I mentioned before. I just got back from the Colorado/ Kansas area where I worked as a missionary in the Church. While there I learned Spanish and shared my beliefs in Jesus Christ and The Book of Mormon with the Latino people in that part of the country. Now I try to maintain that openness with my acquaintances here in Florida by continuing to talk about my beliefs, which I think are very important to share with everyone.
