Hi I'm Lisa

I'm a Southern girl with no accent. I think eating ice cream for breakfast, lunch, and dinner is a good thing. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 22 year-old college student studying marriage and family relationships. I'm a believer in Christ-centered homes. I believe building strong families can change the world. I served a full-time mission in Oregon and fell head-over-heels in love with the PNW. I love people. I love learning. I love being thrifty. I love the beauty of the world. I believe in looking at the glass half-FULL. I love life!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. From a young age, my parents shared with me their most precious treasure: their testimonies of Jesus Christ. That early foundation has blessed my life tremendously, but there came a time when I had to stop living off of my parents' testimonies and find out for myself if the Church is true. I read The Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it is true. My answer did not come in a miraculous vision, but through a feeling of peace and joy. I know that the peace and joy I felt as I prayed to know if The Church is true was the Holy Ghost testifying to me that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church. I am a Mormon because I know that Joseph Smith really was a prophet of God and that through him The Book of Mormon was translated. I know that The Book of Mormon is the word of God just as The Holy Bible is the word of God. I know that we are led by a living prophet today, President Thomas S. Monson. He is the spokesman for our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church restored on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by filling myself with LIGHT by reading the scriptures, praying, studying the words of past and current prophets/apostles, and serving others. I then SHARE the LIGHT by reaching out to others. I share the gospel because it is who I am. I cannot separate my faith from who I am, because it's me. It's the way I treat others. It's the way I carry myself with confidence. It's the way I look to the future with faith and hope. It's the way I live my life.
