Hi I'm Rex

I was born and raised in Utah. I served a mission in Brasil, I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have four handsome boys that range from 9 to 15 years old. We enjoy fishing, shooting guns and going camping. I have been in the trucking industry for 13 years and I enjoy driving and seeing new scenery daily. As much as I enjoy driving trucks I would encourage others that are considering driving truck for a living to find additional investments that would allow you to be home with your family more or you may lose what is most precious to you......my family is most precious to me. On the top of my regret list is that I prepared poorly occupation wise to support my family and I hope that others will learn from my mistake that an education is key to supporting your family both temporally and spiritually. If you don't get an education you may find yourself in todays economy working 70 to 90 hours a week which doesn't allow you to build relationships at home with your wife and children.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to loving parents that are faithful members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They raised me faithfully in the church. There comes a time that each of us must learn and gain a testimony for ourselves if Joseph Smith is a true Prophet of God and if The Book of Mormon is true. I lived on borrowed light of my parents for years and always knew that the church was true by pure logic but I needed to know and have that confirmation of the Spirit that the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ could be found in the Mormon church. To accomplish this I learned that I must study The Book of Mormon. I've read The Book of Mormon at least twice cover to cover personally and once as a family we've read it. Moroni gives each of us an invitation to learn for ourselves if The Book of Mormon is true. I followed that invitation by reading, pondering and praying to Him that gave me purpose in life with an open mind to know for myself if what I had read was true. A wonderful feeling that I can only describe like when you see or hear an incredible uplifting song or performance that is uplifting that warms the soul yet gives you goosebumps.....that is how The Book of Mormon makes me feel when I read and ponder the messages found in this wonderful book. I also have studied the life of the Prophet Joseph Smith and my testimony is that he is the prophet of the restoration of the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in these latter days and that he did translate the Book of Mormon by divine assistance. When I read The Book of Mormon I feel closer to my Heavenly Father. I've found in my life that daily prayer and study of the Book of Mormon helps me weather the storms of life and that my love for the Savior grows daily as strive to keep the commandments.

How I live my faith

I have been a boy scout leader, and worked with the youth of the church. I enjoy working with the youth yet sometimes it's challenging for me to connect with them especially my own children but I think that slowly I am learning how to be a better friend. I struggle doing my home teaching which allows us to go into the homes of members of the church where we attend services and teach gospel principles and learn of there needs both temporal and spiritual. I know that if I would make a greater effort to do it that I would find time to do it. Right now I am going thru the biggest storm of my life and I have found that the more I serve my fellow man the easier it is to weather this storm and that everything will be alright. I've invited a friend from work to meet with the missionaries and we had a nice discussion in his home this past Monday. I pray that he will read and pray about The Book of Mormon and the prophet Joseph Smith.
