Hi I'm Karen

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of 2 children and have 3 grandchildren. I am very happily married after 2 failed marriages prior to membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I do Home Care and love it totally. I love having flower beds in the summer. I also love my cats!!

Why I am a Mormon

I became a "Mormon" Sept 2000 when my marriage was in serious trouble. My husband was an alcoholic. I met a member on-line. He would place scripture at the end of each email. When I would read this I could feel the Spirit sooo strong and I knew we needed what he and his family had. When I began studying with the missionaries and they started to talk about blessings and being able to be a "forever" family the concept scared me. I just needed to know how to keep our marriage til death do we part. Since then many things have happened in our lives and we are now sealed together for time and eternity. I love My Father in Heaven and His son Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet. I have prayed earnestly about this and have a testimony of it. I know who I am and where I am going for the first time in my life!!! I love being a member of the GREATEST CHURCH on this earth and the only true church. I share this with you in the name of Jesus Christ my Savior. Amen

How I live my faith

I am a Sunday School Teacher for the 7 & 8 year olds. This is very exciting as the youth can choose to be baptised when they reach 8 years old. I love seeing them prior to baptism and then seeing all the changes after baptism. It is sooo exciting to be a part of their lives. I also love visiting with the women I am assigned to visit each month thru the Visit Teaching Program. I know I learn more from them than I can ever teach them.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

I have Asthma and with age it has progressed into COPD. I am sooo grateful that we became members and followed the teaching of The Church. We have food storage which came in very handy when I was very sick prior to surgery I had to open an airway back in 2005. I was sooo sick I could no longer work full-time. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Not all young men serve a mission. My son was 19 when we joined The Church but he wanted to serve a mission soooo bad. He saved up his money and after he was a member for 1 1/2 years he was able to go on a mission in CA. It was the very best 2 years of his life. He grew in the gospel so much as he served Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
