Hi I'm Camille

I am a wife and a mother of 5 kids.

About Me

Im a busy stay at home mom. I have five kids and the fourth was adopted through foster care. I home school, run errands, and have fun learning new things with my children. We work hard together as a family and play together as a family. We enjoy riding the 4-wheelers and playing games.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Mormon by my parents. As I attended church and studied the lessons, I began to learn for my self that the things I was learning were true. I have had several experiences where I have felt my Heavenly Fathers love for me. I know that He is aware of each of us. I know that God loves all of His children and wants us to be happy.

How I live my faith

I have always been very active in the church. Because we do not have paid clergy, the church relies on members to teach the lessons and support the church programs. I have taught the small children, helped the women of of my neighborhood, helped in the scouting programs, and helped in service projects. I have enjoyed serving in any way I am needed. It is a great opportunity to get to know my neighbors and make great friendships.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Camille
Self reliance is an important part of my life. I am a very independent person. I feel safe and secure when I know that I have savings in the bank and food on the shelves. Because I have five kids, I feel a responsibility to them. This world seems to be upside down now. Things are so insecure and unstable. I want to be able to provide security to my children. I also like the convenience of having some of the basic goods in our home. If Im in a hurry making dinner, it is nice to pull something off the shelf and prepare a nice home cooked meal for my family. I have also enjoyed learning new skills. I have learned to make bread and can/bottle food that we have grown in our own back yard garden. I also have prepared for the most probable emergencies. We don't know what the future holds, but we do live in perilous times. I feel like my children depend on me to protect them in any situation. I would also like to be able to help other people if we have an emergency in our area. If I have taken care of my family, I will not feel panic or fear. I will be able to help others and feel like I can be independent and in control of the situation. Food storage/self reliance can be as simple as getting an extra can of soup while you are at the grocery store this week. Show more Show less
