Hi I'm Cortley

I grew up on a ranch. I like Star Wars. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a young married college student with a baby girl. I love to read everything from Shakespeare to Calvin and Hobbs. I grew up on a ranch. I enjoy hunting and fishing. My husband and I are huge nerds.

Why I am a Mormon

I learned about the gospel from my parents who are members. I chose to be baptized because I knew the Book of Mormon was true. When I prayed to know if this was really a book of God's words I felt at peace. Since my baptism I have received many blessing from the Lord as I chose to follow the commandments he has given for his children. These include being married to my husband in the temple for all eternity. I know that I am a child of God and that he truly loves me. I know that the Savior payed for my sins so I can once again return to the Lord's presence. I know that the prophets of this church have been called of God and have authority from him. I am grateful that the Lord has given us a prophet for this day and age to lead us through the trials that we may face.

How I live my faith

I live my faith day to day. Each morning starts with a prayer to get me through the day and at the end of the day I pray to thank the Lord for all he has given me. I read the scriptures with my husband and on my own every day and each time my testimony of there truth is strengthened. I also teach a Sunday school class to my peers.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Basically, the church's stand on same sex marriages and homosexuality is that they are against God and his plan for us. That doesn't mean that people who have same sex attractions are bad. Everyone has temptations to overcome in this life it is when we act on these that we distance ourselves from God. But remember that no matter how far from God we feel he is still just a prayer away and he will always be willing to help you. Show more Show less
