Hi I'm Bruce

I'm a Dad, a Brother, a Husband, an owner of a neurotic Shih-Tzu and a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and father of four beautiful daughters. Yes, you read that correctly, five females in our home and there isn't a thing I would change about any of it. I'm an IT professional, enjoy all types of music, hiking, video games and a great slice of pizza. The panhandle of Florida was where I called home for the first twenty one years of my life before serving a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I've since called Utah, Texas and Louisiana home and met many amazing individuals and families.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised Mormon, at the age of eight I was baptized and confirmed a member. As I grew into maturity as a teenager I began taking religion less seriously and honestly never remember asking the classic question of "why am I hear on earth" or "who am I". I just wanted to have fun and growing up on Florida's Emerald Coast was the perfect playground for a teenager looking for fun. It also provided a lot of opportunity for distraction for those things that mattered most. When I was 20 and still living on the beach with no real plans before me I had a serious moment of reflection one day and recognized that the listless nature of my life was due to the fact I had abandoned the gospel of Jesus Christ and those teachings I had grown up with. This moment led to many quiet moments of prayer and time in the scriptures and as I prayerfully considered the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, the Holy Spirit bore witness to me that the Book of Mormon was true and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was indeed the true and living church led by a real prophet of God (Ezra Taft Benson at the time). I concluded that I must immediately be about My Fathers business and made the decision to serve a full-time mission and have never looked back on my relationship with God and Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon is being actively engaged in the physical and spiritual welfare of my fellowman. I've been blessed in my life to be able to work with the youth of our church and helping them learn the value of service and living a clean and virtuous life. Additionally, I've had many other opportunities with my church to visit and serve individuals and families of our congregation who are in need or just to visit and strengthen one another through our friendship and faith. I currently am blessed to have the assignment to visit all the Mormon congregations in our area and assist in teach the gospel of Jesus Christ.
