Hi I'm Brandon

I live in upstate NY and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am father of three young, energetic, fun-loving, and sometimes challenging children. Much of my life is defined by my children, but they have made it so much richer and fuller than it was before, I can't imagine things without them. I'm an engineer by profession, so I approach life from a very pragmatic standpoint. It seems like like is pretty full just taking care of them and trying to keep the grass less than a foot tall in the summer :)

Why I am a Mormon

I suppose the most concise answer of why I am a Mormon is that living the Gospel of Jesus Christ makes me happy. It almost sounds too simple to say it that way, but it is true. The times that I have been happiest in my life are the times I am best living the Gospel. I gives me practical guidance on how I can be a better husband and father. It has allowed me to see that my family and the Lord are the most important things in my life. It gives me direction and a meaning to my life. Life can be difficult at times, but it is a big comfort to me to know that the Lord is mindful of me, and my struggles and concerns. Thinking of him makes me want to be a better person.

How I live my faith

One thing I really love about the Gospel is that it permeates into every corner of my life. It helps me to be honest, hardworking, and ethical at work. It reminds me to be compassionate and understanding with the kids when they have pushed me to my limit. It just makes everything better and more meaningful. Some time ago, one of our Church leaders challenged members to read from the scriptures every day. I had been reading half-heartedly before this, but after that time I have tried much harder to make time every day. It has made a HUGE difference. The changes were slow at first, but I have found myself becoming more understanding, and more focused, kinder and just happier. I find that my taste in music has shifted to more uplifting and edifying songs. I have less desire to do things that I know are wrong. It has truly redefined me!
