Hi I'm Kevin

I'm a husband, father, rural family physician, avid cyclist and a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 5 (3 boys, 2 girls), married to a wonderful girl, and am a rural family physician, family guy, an avid cyclist, and live in western Colorado. I also like to ski, shoot trap, and be with my family. I've been member of the Church all my life and served a mission to Finland a while back. Pretty rusty now with the language though. I come from a large family, with 3 brothers and 7 sisters and we really like to get together when possible. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints means everything to me and my family.

Why I am a Mormon

Because the gospel gives hope, meaning to life, reliable standards, an accurate understanding of who God is, thus giving deep purpose to my worship and life. The counsel of the scriptures (Bible, Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price, Doctrine and Covenants) and living prophets and apostles consistently direct me to Christ and reinforces my personal prayer experiences that God our Father lives, and that Jesus is His Holy Son, testified of by the Holy Ghost. This restored gospel simply makes sense and is scripturally and historically consistent, as well as currently relevant. It gives guidance that no other source can provide and I know it is true. Its teachings have protected me time and time again, as have the promptings of the Holy Ghost, and the covenants I have made with God. Words cannot express adequately my conviction that God lives and this Church is true. As an ancient disciple said, "Come and see..."

How I live my faith

That's the beauty of the Church, daily guidance in all I do. Daily prayer, scripture study personally and with my family are simply what we do. We look for ways to help our neighbors and run pretty hard doing that most days, since I currently serve as a bishop. My career in medicine gives ample opportunity to serve beyond Church opportunities. Giving love and encouragement to our kids and their spouses is important as well. Quite simply, we really try hard to do as Christ asked when He said, "Come follow me". We hope to leave our family and the area we live a legacy of service to those around us and leave earth a little better than we found it. Scattering a little sunshine and hope along ours and others' way..
