Hi I'm Britany

I'm a third grade teacher. I love to dance. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated in April 2012 and found my dream job. I teach 3rd grade and have loved every moment of it. I love children. Being around them helps me to find something good out of each day. I love spending time with my family, being out in the sun, reading and dancing. Life is full of wonderful surprises and I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for me!

Why I am a Mormon

I know that my Heavenly Father loves me. I have been blessed to grow up with the knowledge of the gospel in my life. Through every trial and heart ache, my Savior has been there to comfort me, support me and help me to make it through until the light shines once again. I find peace in the scriptures, listening to the voice of His leaders, prayer and by being in Holy places. I know that when we are sealed in the temple and strive to live righteously, we can be with our families forever- even after death. It is so comforting to know that in the after-life, I will be with those that I love. Life can be tough but I know that by living the way that the Savior would have me, my life doesn't have to be as hard because the Savior is on my side cheering me one and helping me see the beauty in life and finding joy in the little things. I know that this church is true. Because I have felt the Spirit bear witness to me of the truthfulness of the gospel and all the things that have transpired to bring the church to where it is today. Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His Son. The Lord did and continues to speak to His children today.

How I live my faith

Involvement in the Gospel has always brought peace and happiness in my life. I attend Institute (religious classes for young adults) regularlly. My friends often tell me that they do not have time to go to Institute but for me, I know that if I make the time to go and worship the Lord and learn of Him, then He will help me in every aspect of my life. Institute gives me an opportunity to discuss the Savior and Gospel Principles and to feel the strength of others who are in similar situations as I am. I have several callings in my ward which has allowed me to get to know the other members of my ward and grow as an individual. One of my favorite callings has been being a visiting teacher. Each woman in the church is assigned visiting teachers to check on them monthly and deliver a spritual message. I have recieved a small glimpse of our Heavenly Father's love for His precious daughters.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Member are encouraged to give 10% of their income back to the Lord to fund His church. The money goes towards things such as building and operating our temples and church buildings. Our tithing money helps fund the missionary program. It does not pay for missionaries to serve missions but provides the materials such as pass along cards, Book of Mormons, and other materials. Funds are also used to do family history, temple work and provide an education for some. When you pay tithing, it is always interesting to me how the Lord blesses us for the sacrafices we make to help the church grow. His blessings are countless. Show more Show less
