Hi I'm Bob

I teach students with special needs. I love to spend time with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the proud father of three adorable young children and the lucky husband to a wonderful woman. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family, especially trying to do something silly to make them laugh. I also love to run, take my dog for walks, read, play basketball, and do anything musical. I have an exciting career helping students with special needs to read, write, and communicate using technology. I spend the rest of my time avoiding doing the dishes, going to the grocery store, and trying to sneak away to take a nap!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in a household where my mother was an active Mormon and my father was not. My mother always took me to church when I was growing up, but I was never pressured to go. I always felt like I was allowed to make the choice, and I chose to go because I liked the way I felt at church. Learning about Jesus Christ and His gospel helped me be happy. As I've grown older, I've realized just how much I've come to rely on the teachings of Jesus Christ and His prophets and how good my life is because of my choice to follow them. If you were to ask me the top reason why I am still an active Mormon today, I would say it is because I know that this church is led by a living prophet of God who is led by the Saviour to teach ME the things that I need in my life to be happy now and for eternity. That is something I cannot deny and I wouldn't trade for anything in the world.

How I live my faith

My family strives to go to church every Sunday. I try to pray to my Heavenly Father every day throughout the day for me and for those I know and love. I try to daily study His words in the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and in the teachings of his modern day prophets and apostles. I find that when I regularly talk to God through prayer, and let Him talk to me through his scriptures, that my life is so much better than when I am lax in these things. My wife and I gather the family together once a week on Monday nights to have an activity and a gosple centered lesson. We call it Family Home Evening. I am amazed at how much my young children are learning because of regular church attendance and family home evening lessons. The world is a treacherous place now, and I hope they will continue to learn all they can so that they can be successful and happy as they grow older.
