Hi I'm hannah

I'm the oldest of 5: my 4 younger brothers are my heros. I grew up in Minnesota playing soccer not hockey. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Political Science and am now in the process of going to graduate school. Last fall I returned home from an 18 month mission to Italy. I left my heart there, as it is where I fell in love with not only the people and culture but where I deepened my testimony of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and solidified my relationship with my Heavenly Father. Some of my favorite things to do are to play sports, especially soccer, and watch college basketball and football games; shoe shopping, making no bake cookies and being with my family. In fact, family dinner time is considered sacred time at our house and my brothers and I could sit there all night, quoting movie lines from Finding Nemo, The Incredibles and Mulan. I love old classic movies, specifically I could watch The Sound of Music and 7 Brides for 7 Brothers and It's a Wonderful Life all day everyday.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel and the blessings i receive from being obedient to the commandments and principles that govern my life. I have always known the church and its teachings; my parents the same. I grew up singing about and knowing about the love of my Heavenly Father and His great plan for us. As I have gotten older, I have chosen to live this way; to be a Mormon, because of the happiness that I have seen and felt in living in harmony with the teachings of Jesus Christ. It's simple. It just makes sense. That's not to say that life is without trial, for the gospel isn't insurance against pain and suffering. But with it, it's not only possible, but it's also fulfilling to overcome those anguishes and difficulties. I took the teachings found in the Book Of Mormon and Bible, of the modern prophets and local leaders and have gained a testimony for myself of the truths that they teach. That's the beauty of it all; we can know of ourselves and that is how I gained my testimony of who I am and who God is. And he is our Heavenly Father, we are his children and he loves us. And because he love us, he has given us a direct path back to him.

How I live my faith

I spend 3 months in the summer teaching, helping, and aiding youth, ages 14-18 at a summer program known as EFY. It is here where they can learn how the basic principles and values of the Gospel of Jesus Christ bring happiness. Teaching the youth is something that I love; their energy and pure intent always impresses me. Over the past few years and recent months, I have taught them in their Sunday school classes and early morning classes, known as seminary.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

hannah
We increase our faith in the Savior by doing that which he has asked us. Keeping the commandments and enduring to the end are essential parts in our process of becomming; we are here on earth to learn how to become like Jesus Christ, to acquire the attributes and qualities that our Heavenly Father instilled within us as his spirit children. In order to increase our faith, we must be willing to do HIS will-as we do so, we become full of humility and are enabled to be taught. As we are taught, we learn and become and DO. Faith, is in fact, an action of belief and trust. How do we increase our faith?-By being obedient. No matter what. We live first by covenant, and then by comfort and convenience. Show more Show less
