Hi I'm Ashlee

I'm an active, anxious, awesome, awkward, annoyed, always busy, mother of two. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full-time wife and mother to my two kids. I love to read, bake, watch TV, hang out with my hubby, play the Wii with my kids, and spend time with my family. I teach piano. I'm not a very strict teacher since I always hated to practice growing up. But I enjoy teaching my students and watching them learn. I like to be informed on local and global issues, by reading the news and listening to talk radio. I take life one step at a time and enjoy the journey that is Life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in an active LDS home, with wonderful parents and many younger siblings. All my life I've felt the spirit surrounding me, at church and at home. It's a light that has always been in my life. For that reason it's hard for me to say the exact moment I truly became converted to the Church. Our church urges it's members to obtain a testimony of their own through prayer and scripture study. I've read the Book of Mormon many times and I am continually amazed at the message it teaches. What a wonderful Book! I know that the words I read are inspired for our time. They speak to me and give me strength each and every day. I've felt the spirit on so many occasions testifying that the Church is true. While I may not have had one big moment of conversion, rather I've had many little moments over my life testifying to me that it is true. I love this Gospel with all my heart and feel blessed to be called a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I have the opportunity to work with the women of our church. Being a young mother, I feel lucky to associate with wonderful examples of strong, faithful women on a weekly basis. They teach me so much, even though occasionally I am asked to teach them. My faith has grown as I research and prepare for the lessons I'm asked to give to these women. They say that the lesson mostly 'teaches the teacher.' This has been very true for me. I'm also involved in planning activities for the women in the church. These activities include service to others, learning new skills, friendship-building, and other fun activities. They also include my favorite part of any good get together, great food! I love being with the women of our church. They are honest, faithful, happy women who teach me through their words and examples.

What is being a Mormon like?

It is wonderful! It is such a happy way of life. We are normal people, law-abiding citizens who try to improve our communities by being involved and informed of the issues that surround us. Our faith is a big part of the way we live our life. We strive to have order in our homes and surround ourselves with good, clean entertainment. We have high standards of modesty and we try to avoid anything that would cause harm to our physical bodies. We are free to choose our path through life. I know that by living the teachings of the church my life is blessed and I am happy, healthy, and able to give my children the best life possible. Show more Show less
