Hi I'm Lu

I run and read (separately) for clarity and strength. I covenanted to love my husband and 5 children forever. I am a Mormon!

About Me

Being a wife and mother of 5 is important to me because of what I believe a family is. When we are together, and serving and loving each other, we are strong and we feel JOY. It is not always easy. We all have to say we are sorry once in a while. I love to re-arrange furniture, paint, and explore in thrift stores. Running clears my thoughts and makes me feel stronger in both body and mind. Reading novels, biographies, and history on my own and with discussion in my book group, gives me an appreciation for those with writing talent!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ. I know that I have a Father in heaven who knows me and teaches me through the Spirit or Holy Ghost. I know that though everyone is imperfect, Jesus Christ is the head of this church and those who hold positions of leadership, seek after and are taught and influenced by that same Spirit or Holy Ghost. I have the opportunity to receive the blessings of Jesus Christ's sacrifice and become better. I know I get what I pay for. If I study the words of ancient prophets, of Christ, and of current prophets; I have the opportunity to communicate with my Father in Heaven. I will then have access to guidance and blessings that are personal, and specific for me and my family.

How I live my faith

My days are filled with opportunities to serve. I love that I think less about my wants and needs when I do. I have so often been on the receiving end of service, from my son's therapists and teachers since one of my children was diagnosed with PDD NOS (On the Autism Spectrum). This service motivates me to want to give back when and where I can. I have a husband and 5 children who I have covenanted to love forever. I studied Art when I first went to college and plan to return and continue my formal education when my children are all in school. I haven't and will never stop looking for opportunities to progress and am thankful that current Prophets teach the importance of gaining a formal education. I love the lessons I have learned from training for and completing a long distance race. I ran my first official half marathon this fall and plan to run another in the spring. The 12 - 14 year old girls in my church teach me every time I am with them, and hopefully I occasionally help them in their learning.
