Hi I'm Sean

I'm a student, I love writing, I'm an officer candidate for the USMC, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently studying computer science at Brigham Young University. I love reading and writing and hope to be a novelist one day. I also have a deep love for the United States Marine Corps and hope to be an officer in that when I graduate. I'm currently in the Platoon Leaders Class, working towards my commission, or the day I will be able to call myself a Marine. I also really love soccer. It's the greatest thing ever. I'm originally from New Jersey and a fan of all Philadelphia sports teams. Food is an obsession. I speak Chinese. I served a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Scotland, living in Glasgow and Edinburgh. I miss Scotland like no other. I have two brothers who are my best friends. Yep.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this church is true, simply. I've seen the Lord help me in my life far too much, each and everyday. In the good times and the bad times, He is there for me. The Book of Mormon has been a great help in my life and has helped me become the man I am today. Were it not for Christ and His church, I don't know where I'd be. But I know that I'm exactly where I want to be in life today and it's because I'm never alone - God is with me always. And that's more than enough for me. He's answered my prayers and as I've lived the teachings taught by our modern prophets and Apostles, I've found nothing but joy. That's what it comes down to - putting it down to the test. That's the only way to know if it's good or not.

How I live my faith

I read the Lord's word everyday in His sacred scriptures as well as go to church each Sunday. I make sure to keep in touch with Him through praying everyday. These little things mean the world to me and I'd be nowhere without them. I also work my hardest to put others above myself and serve as God would have us do. The meaning of being Christian is doing as Christ would do. I am Christ's servant on the earth. I want to become the man that He wants me to be. Through small and simple things, I make it there. Each and every day is an opportunity to take another step forward, to improve just a little bit more.
