Hi I'm Laura

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! I am grateful I know who I am! I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am a stay at home mom. I enjoy spending time with family, traveling, reading, and studying the gospel. I would like to study languages and become fluent in at least 2 other languages other than English. I am also trying to teach myself how to play the piano. I have 5 kids with just one left at home. I have just recently gone back to school to work on my Interpersonal Family Communications Degree.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family and raised LDS. Because of the things taught to me as a child I had something solid to fall back upon when struggles came into my own life. I lived my life according to the things I was taught in a very casual manner, but I did not necessarily do it for me. I did it more for my children because I felt it was a good way to bring them up. Later on in life when struggles and very strong adversity entered in I turned back to the things I was taught and started implementing for myself the teachings of Jesus Christ. I immersed myself in studying the Book of Mormon, Bible and other scriptures. As I struggled, prayed and studied I came to know our Savior. I came to understand how much He loves me as an individual. I came to understand with greater meaning what His Atonement means for me. I came to understand what a strength the covenants we enter into with Him are. This gospel teaches me how I can return to our Heavenly Father. As I have come to know Him and our Savior it has become my greatest desire to live a life that will help me to return to them. I have a great love for my Father in Heaven and my Savior! I know they live and they love us each individually with a love that is unimaginable. I know Jesus is the Christ and that He died for us and was resurrected. I have felt His Atonement heal my heart and help me to love, forgive, and to learn how to have charity. This is why I am a Mormon today!

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith by being obedient to the commandments, studying the scriptures, missionary work, and serving others in my ward and stake. I enjoy my calling as a gospel doctrine teacher, serving my neighbors, and most of all serving my family! I also try hard to become more like my Savior and applying the things I learn internally so that I can become more loving, kind, patient, long-suffering, and looking for ways to serve and help others.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

I definitely do! There has been several times when the words they have said were exactly what I needed to hear. Their example helps me and strengthens me. I feel their love and concern for us. I have received witness of the things they say to be what the Savior would say. Show more Show less

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

I need a Savior because I can not do it without Him. I tried and it was too much to bear. When I learned to turn burdens over to Him and to trust in Him then I was able to forgive and to be healed. Show more Show less
