Hi I'm Amber Lanae

'I've got shoes on my feet and brains in my head.' I am a Mormon.

About Me

I recently finished a residency for pharmacy and am now entering the world as a pharmacy professor. I love being active-whether it means expanding my mind with a good book or traveling to new places and experiencing new things! I believe that the world is an open wonder that we can choose to learn from and explore! I'm very passionate about doing outreach work and recently left a piece of my heart in Africa while there on a humanitarian mission.

Why I am a Mormon

There is no doubt in my mind why I am a Mormon-the task is helping other people understand the testimony which burns within my heart. It is something that can be summed up in one small word that conquers the world-in short it is because of love. Through my life, I have sought out purpose and direction and I found it through my Heavenly Father. I know that His plan is very specific for each of us and that each plan was designed with such perfect love that there is no room for mistake. I have come to know my Father in Heaven personally and learned of His specific love for me. This love is so tangible in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Within this gospel, we come to know Christ and through Him we come to know the Father. The simple, yet perfect principles teach us how to get nearer to our Father in Heaven and instruct us on how to return to him. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God because I prayed about it and the Holy Ghost testified to me that the Book of Mormon was true. I know that we still receive instruction from a Prophet today (specifically Thomas S. Monson) because Heavenly Father loves us. I know that there is no better way to come to know Christ, then by reading the Book of Mormon. Within its pages, you will be instructed individually and personally on how much the Father really does love you and how to return back to Him one day. Too often in the world, we are left feeling alone and desolate. This is not what God intended for us; He wants us to know how perfectly he loves us. He sent a perfect Son to die for us so that we could be saved from our sins and return to Him. Love is the motivation behind God's individual plan for each of us and love is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by example. I am not perfect, but I strive every day to understand Christ and Heavenly Father more perfectly so that I may emulate them in my daily activities. The temple is a focus of my life because I know that it is a holy place where God can instruct and teach us. Scripture study is another focus that I am striving to accomplish consistently. The scriptures provide such personal counsel and teach us the exact steps we must take to return to our Father in Heaven.
