Hi I'm Keith

I teach network security at a college in Texas in the USA. I joined the Church in 2001 because I knew the Book of Mormon is true!

About Me

I enjoy fly fishing, hiking, camping, and traveling. My wife and I have 4 children, all grown and on their own. When I'm not working or serving in my calling I'm spending time with my wife and family. I enjoy gardening and being out doors.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I have a testimony it is the Savior's church, restored by a prophet of God. I joined the church in 2001 because a friend at work shared the Gospel with me. When I first read the Book of Mormon I felt the Holy Ghost touch me and tell me the book is true! The Holy Ghost continues to reaffirm this each time I read it. Being a member has changed my life for the better in every way because I choose to follow the Savior Jesus Christ. The Savior is the perfect example of all that is good and right. His atonement and resurrection make it possible for us to return to live with Heavenly Father when we leave this life. When I read the Bible and Book of Mormon I feel His love for me and for all mankind. God loves you too! The Savior's gospel, as He established it has been restored to earth! I know this is true, and you can too!

How I live my faith

The Savior Jesus Christ teaches us to serve others. Following His example I serve as often as I can. Sometimes it's small things like helping someone move, or taking their garbage to the street, etc. Sometimes it's big things like my wife and I volunteered at a free dental clinic where 100's of people were given free dental care. I cleaned up after each patient and helped arrange transportation to and from the clinic. Our ward sponsors several major service projects a year, which my wife and I enjoy participating in. A few of the service projects our ward has sponsored include cooking meals at the local Ronald McDonald house, cleaning up city parks, secret Santa for disadvantaged families, and working as disaster relief volunteers..

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

There is more to life than just living day to day and then dying - never to live again. We mortals are on this earth to complete our divine purpose, which is to freely choose good over evil; to form families that are designed to be eternal; to accept our Savior Jesus Christ and allow His atonement to wash away our sins. As we do these things we become more like our Savior Jesus Christ, who is like our Heavenly Father. We are created in the Father's image, physically and spiritually. God has established His Plan of Salvation that allows us to return to Him to live eternally with our family. This is His plan for us. It is up to us to accept it or not. That is called agency; the ability to freely choose for ourselves. Show more Show less
