Hi I'm Rob

I'm a Husband and a Father, and a second year medical student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Husband to a wonderful woman, and Father to two little boys, with hopes for more! I am currently a first year medical student. I’m happy about life because I have wonderful people with whom I can share my joy. I work hard and pray that it all pays off. I’m athletic and love to play sports – anything from baseball and basketball to wakeboarding and skiing. I love the outdoors and relish the opportunity to stand on the top of a mountain. I was born in Sacramento, California to wonderful parents and lived there until I graduated from high school and went to college. I spent two years in Guatemala serving a mission for the Church and then came back and finished my undergraduate studies.

Why I am a Mormon

It wasn’t until I was older that I finally began to realize what it meant to be a Mormon – why it was so important. I admit I lived the life of a Mormon as a youth because I knew nothing else. But now, having seen others, having been on my own, and now being married and being a father, I know now why it is so important. First, being a member of the Church means that I have knowledge that others lack – often because they don’t even know what they are missing. I know why I am here; I know about God’s plan and what happened before this world began and what God’s plan is for us for after this life. That knowledge alone means so very much to me. Next, the church just makes sense. Never does the church say “just believe this because you have to.” We are counseled to think things through, to ponder, and to search for answers and that through revelation the answers will be given to you. The organization is ordained of God. There are many other reasons as well, but most of all I have a personal testimony of the validity of the church, the Book of Mormon, and the restoration of the Church through the prophet Joseph Smith. It has been confirmed to me time and time again through the gift of the Spirit.

How I live my faith

My faith is everything of who I am. I live my faith every day in everything I do. My faith in Heavenly Father and my understanding of who He is, who I am, and his plan – his entire plan from before the world to after this life – gives me the optimism and hope that I need to overcome life’s challenges. My faith in eternal families helps me to love my wife and child in a way that exemplifies that I will be a husband to my wife forever and a father to my children. My faith helps me not only be optimistic when facing life’s challenges, and gives me understanding where others would find darkness, but I live with joy in my life every day because of what I know.
