Hi I'm Sam

"I love my family, football, and food!... And I'm a Mormon!"

About Me

I'm 19 years old.I was born in Utah in 1991. I grew up in the Dallas Ft. Worth area. I moved out to Utah when I was in 8th grade. My dad is Tongan and my mom is white. I'm the second oldest of 5 children! I love playing and watching sports, especially football. I have played football since I was 8 years old. I'm currently serving a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints in the Minnesota, Minneapolis Mission! My hope is to return and be able to play football and more importantly go to college. I also want to travel the world. I love having fun and being with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to goodly parents. However, each person has to be personally converted. I made alot of bad decisions and came to a dead end in my life. I was miserable in life and it seemed pointless. I had many people that have helped me along the way but one night in particular my friend invited me to go to one of his church leaders house. It was at a time in life that religion was not important to me but I was hungry and he promised me food after. The lesson was on Jesus Christ and the atonement. I felt the spirit of God stronger than anytime before. A conviction to my heart and soul. I was then invited to change and to pray for forgiveness. It was through the power of prayer and reading from the Book of Mormon that I received my answer that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Jesus Christ church once again established on this earth. I know this with a surety that it is, by the same power of God I felt in my heart and soul. The gospel has blessed my family and my life more than I can express. I know God lives and loves us each and has a plan for each of us to return to him if we just turn to him. The only way to find a fulness of joy in this life is through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The fulness of his gospel has been restored to the earth. I encourage each person to find this out for theirselves!

How I live my faith

I am currently living my faith by serving a two year mission in Minnesota! Another way I live my faith is by trying each new day to follow Jesus Christ and his example.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

One way to know if Mormonism is true is to read the Book of Mormon. The book of Mormon is the keystone of our religion. I invite everyone to read the Book of Mormon, to ponder on the words, and then to ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Jesus Christ if the Book is true. If you read the Book of Mormon with real intent and a sincere heart you will come to know of its truthfulness. When you know the Book of Mormon is true by the power of the Holy Ghost, you know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God and that he restored Jesus Christ's church back to this earth in its fulness!
