Hi I'm Chris

I am a cyclist, I love to travel, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am not afraid of challenges. I love taking bike rides to the top of mountains, riding whitewater rapids on nothing bud a paddleboard, or fulfilling other goals. I recently finished graduate school at Indiana University--Go IU! I am excited to someday become a husband and a father and look forward to devoting everything I have to my own wife and children. Currently, I am a son and a brother to great parents and fabulous siblings. My immediate family is extremely diverse in terms of interests, political and religious views, and life experience. Yet, we are all very close and depend on one another regularly.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. It is led by the very hand of God by revelation through his modern-day prophets and apostles. Sure, I can see how some think it is irrational to believe that a 14-year-old boy [Joseph Smith] saw God the Father and Jesus Christ and translated a book from gold plates [the Book of Mormon]. But I still believe in it--all of it. Why? I have received clear answers to prayer that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. The Book of Mormon is truly another testament of Jesus Christ. I invite you to study, ponder its contents, and pray about its truthfulness. The answers to your prayers may not come right away, but as you study and pray in faith and with real intent, you will come to know, as I know, that the Book of Mormon is true. You will know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet and that Thomas S. Monson is a true Prophet that leads the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by living the high moral standards characteristic of one who is trying to lead a Christ-like life. I am far from perfect, but through my best efforts, I feel that I have been able to bless the lives of others as He did. The service I have done has been at a substantially lower level than His, but I am doing what I can.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Yes. Take a look in the Book of Mormon starting at 3 Nephi, chapters 11-30. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Sincere prayer is the way to come to know our Father. Prayer can seem awkward at first--especially if you have never done it. However, in time, it will feel much more comfortable, and you will feel the love your Father has for you as he answers those prayers in his own time, in his own way, and according to his will.
