Hi I'm Stan

I love to watch my daughters play volleyball with my wife. I'm the Chief of Staff of my local hospital. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 55 yr old father of 5 children. One of my favorite things to do is to go antique shopping with my wonderful wife. I play golf and tennis. I won the state of Texas amateur double championship at the age of 25. My job as a physician gives me a great deal of satisfaction. My youngest son is autistic. I feel compelled to teach people about autism that they may be able to help these children live happy full lives. I probably enjoy watching sports too much. I am a "homer", I support all my local sports teams. I like most of all spending a weekend alone with my beautiful wife.

Why I am a Mormon

My first experience with the Mormons was when I watched a movie called, Man's Search for Happiness. That movie talked about the purpose of life. I had wondered where did I come from, why I was on earth, and where was I going after this life. I was comforted to know that there were answers to these questions. The experience that made the biggest impact on me was the night that I first heard about the boy Joseph Smith and his vision of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I did wonder why such an important event was not know by everyone. To me if it were true it was the most important thing to happen since the ressurection of Jesus Christ or it was a very bad lie. I felt the urgent need to know for myself if this vision really happened. I prayed specifically to know if God the Eternal Father and Jesus Christ had appeared to the boy Joseph Smith. I did have a tender and clear answer to my heart and mind that vision did indeed happen. I was so very touched to think that God loved our generation and had not left us alone. I was so happy to know that God has continued to love His children and guides us through modern day prophets. Ever since that time I have had many confirming experiences that God does live and Jesus is the Christ. I am so very grateful to the Savior for His atonement. I have learned that all that is unfair about life can be made right through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I now understand the purpose of my life. I now know Heavenly Father's Plan of Happiness. I am sure that if I do my best to follow the Savior and keep His commandments, I will be able to live in heaven with my family, the Savior, and Heavenly Father. This Mormon life makes me happy.

How I live my faith

I am a convert to the Mormon faith. I grew up as a Baptist. I learned about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ from my dear Dad. I had wonderful Sunday school teachers in the Baptist church. They taught me about the Savior from the Holy Bible. I was blessed to know even as a young boy that Heavenly Father loved me. I learned as teenager that my prayers were really heard and answered by my Heavenly Father. I had many great experiences when my family helped with community service projects. I have been a Sunday school teacher, a full-time missionary, and a Mormon Bishop. I try very hard to live a good life. I hope that people that know me can see that I try to follow the example set by the Savior Jesus Christ. I know that I'm not perfect but I do feel that peace that passes all understanding when I honestly live the principles taught by Jesus the Christ.
