Hi I'm Todd

I'm a cowboy, I'm a chemist, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a PhD Chemistry student. When I am not at school I am out on my horses. I rope and try to train my horses to be all around horses. I also do woodworking, especially turning. I really enjoy turning a block of wood into something useful and beautiful.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Mormon church, both of my parents are Mormon. However, that is not why I am Mormon. I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon and know that it is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God and that Thomas S. Monson is the Living Prophet on the earth. I know this because I have prayed and asked God. It was by the power of the spirit of God that I was answered. As I live the teaching of this restored church I have a greater sense of happiness and purpose.

How I live my faith

I am responsible for organizing the teachers of the Sunday school in my local ward. In order to do this I Study the Scriptures daily, recently we have been studying the Old Testament and it has been great to learn more about the prophets of that time. One thing that I try to help the teachers focus on is recognizing how similar our times are to those of the Old Testament, and then find ways to apply the gospel principles taught from those stories in our individual lives. Outside of this responsibility I strive to serve those around me and help whenever/wherever I can. I enjoy studying the scriptures in the morning when I wake up so I can attempt to apply the lessons I learn throughout the day.
