Hi I'm Melissa

I'm a wife, I'm a mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from college in 2010 with a BS in Exercise Science. I'm interested in nutrition and about how our amazing bodies work. I met my sweetheart while going to school and I love being married. We have a little boy who I get to stay home with to raise. It is amazing to see the how excited kids get as they discover the world around them and I'm grateful that I get to be a part of it. We love to be outside, as long as it's not too cold. Our favorite place to travel is to our families houses. I love playing games, playing sports, and baking. Back when I was in high school I love participating in high adventure activities like rock climbing and high ropes courses. I was able to work at a camp over two summers where I got to help run the high ropes course. My claim to fame was that I was able to go through the entire thing (8 obstacles) in less than 5 minutes. Blindfolded. I loved getting to help people figure out how to get through and encourage them when they were unsure of themselves. It was special to see their sense of accomplishment as they finished something that was difficult for them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want to live with my family forever and because I am trying to be more like our Savior Jesus Christ. I know that He lived and died for us so that we can live with Him again someday. He showed us by example how we are supposed to live our lives and He gives us commandments to help us be happy. I know that when I follow the Lord I am happier. Christ has restored His gospel here on the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith. Because of that, I was able to be baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the true church on the earth today. I know that we have a Heavenly Father who loves us. I know that we can live in heaven with our Father in Heaven again if we choose the right.

How I live my faith

I serve in the church by putting on a weekly activity for moms with young kids to get together and offer each other support. The kids have fun participating in activities while the moms get to talk and enjoy being together.
