Hi I'm Monica

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Mexico but grew up in Texas. I graduated from BYU, still single. On the weekends, I volunteer at a children's hospital. I like to rock climb. I've recently tried to pick up running. I like being with friends. I enjoy movies and books. I really like thrifting and re-purposing "junk". I'm currently trying to figure out where I should go with my life and what career I should pursue until I am able to enjoy the blessing of starting my own family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church but my family doesn't have the long lineage in the gospel that others may have. My mom and her parents are converts so our pioneer story is still being written. The gospel has meant everything in my life. It has provided me with direction that I don't think I would have had otherwise. It gives a purpose to my life. I see blessings everyday that come from living the gospel and keeping His commandments. I could not turn my back on everything I have personally come to know to be true. This church is true. I love that we have a living prophet on the Earth that guides and counsels us. I'm so thankful for a Heavenly Father that loves me and knows me and my personal struggles. I know that prayer allows us to directly communicate with Him and that we are never alone.

How I live my faith

I live my faith, I hope, in every aspect of my life. It doesn't just happen once a week on Sunday when I go to church. My current calling in my ward allows me to reach out to members that may be struggling or need a little extra love. I also try to reach out to the community through volunteer work. I spend some time every week at a children's hospital playing with the patients. We are all children of a loving Heavenly Father and the best way to show faith in that is by having love and caring for those around us.
