Hi I'm Kathryn

I am a twin. I have 6 sisters, 1 brother, raised 5 sons & have 11 grandchildren. I love my life! ...& I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Being raised with a twin was a wonderful experience for me. We were always great friends, shared everything, kept each other in line, and we have remained very close. I have five other sisters and one brother who have all been a blessing to my life! I love being a mother and a grandmother. We get together often with our family for dinner, playing games, etc. Even though our five sons are grown and on their own, we vacation together at least once a year. Grandchildren are great!...all eleven of them! Draughter-in-laws are a blessing, too! Some of the things I enjoy doing is playing tennis, floral and interior design, entertaining, sewing, learning and teaching. Also, I love good music and I enjoy singing. Over the years, as a family, we have enjoyed a lot of water & snow skiing and camping with quads. Cooking and baking for family & friends has been one of my passions, especially when they find it satisfying and delicious! I was a licensed beautician in two states and worked while I attending college, studying Clothing and Textiles/Fashion Merchandising. My husband and sons never had to go to a Barber with me around. Also, before having children, I had an opportunity to work as an assistant buyer for a while. As my children got older I was able to start a floral & interior design business out of my home and worked at that for about 10 years. My husband has been wonderfully supportive as he has patiently allowed me to grow and develop skills & talents. One of my strong desires has been to serve a mission for our church and I look forward to serving with my good husband soon.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a testimony that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's true church on the earth. I have studied, fasted, and prayed to know this for myself. I have put it's doctrine to the test through striving to be obedient to the promises I made at my baptism...to be a witness of Christ, to learn of Him and try to pattern my life like His. That enables Him to bless my life with joy and the strength to face any challenge. It is a good way to live. I know that I am imperfect, but I have hope, faith and confidence that the Lord knows me personally, he loves me and that sooner or later everything will turn out okay. That"s why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by consistantly striving to be more like the Savior. I try always to be kind and love others unconditionally. As I serve in different assigments at church, it helps me to do as He did...Learn His doctrine, teach it, and try to lead others to find their way. I love life...not because it's easy, but because it is all worth it!

What is the Relief Society?

Relief Society is an organization for women in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (mormons). It has been a part of the Church since it was organized. It's Motto "Charity Never Faileth" started at the beginning. Those women took this idea to heart as they became a society devoted to seeking out the poor and needy. Another purpose of Relief Society is to organize, teach, and inspire women to become all they were meant to be! We have an hour together on Sundays where we study, teach and discuss gospel topics, such as...praying, fasting, scriptures, the sacrament, faith in Jesus Christ, service, charity, and honesty...to name a few. We, also, have activities and projects at other times where we can learn homemaking skills, gardening, etc. We work on service projects and humanitarian projects. We visit one another in our homes and help to meet any needs we might have. Through Relief Society, I have been assisted to increase my faith and to grow and develop in all aspects of my life. It has helped me to be more aware of those in need and to be a better wife, mother, sister and friend. Relief Society is a sisterhood where great friendships can develop. I have made many good friends and have a lot of sweet memories from participating in Relief Society . Show more Show less
