Hi I'm Andrea

I have a green thumb. I love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy early morning running, singing, cooking from scratch, and sewing. I used to teach junior high math, but right now I stay home with the kids. My husband and I have five of them. My family is everything to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon family. When I was a kid, we moved to an area with few members. I had to decide whether I would follow the crowd or stay true to the teachings of the church. I couldn't deny the peace and joy I felt as I did my best to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. That's why I keep trying to live His gospel even now. It brings me such peace.

How I live my faith

I lead the children's organization for the church in my area. I teach them how to develop their own faith in Jesus Christ and encourage them to walk in His footsteps. I teach them Bible stories as well as stories from the Book of Mormon and how to relate these to their own lives. I've been a Girl Scout leader and have helped lead our local Mothers of Preschoolers group, too.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women guard their families and homes from negative influences in the world. They are encouraged to get as much education as they can. They are resourceful. They are women of faith. Mormons believe men and women are equals. Both are necessary in God's plan. I am personally very grateful for the differences between my husband and me. We both have strengths that complement each other's weaknesses. Although I stay home and my husband works, it is a choice we have made together. We believe this arrangement is best for the upbringing of our children as followers of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
