Hi I'm Matt

I love family, friends and football. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father of 6 children (5 girls and 1 boy). My family mean everything to me and I love spending time with them. When I am not busy with my family (football practise, dance recitals, piano lessons, etc.) I enjoy playing football and watching Manchester United. I also enjoy being outdoors, reading and going on holiday.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know it's true. I was raised as a member of the church and was baptised when I was 8. I have always believed what I was taught as a child and as a teenager growing up. As I prepared to serve as a missionary and leave my family and home for two years I had to find out for myself that what I had been taught and what I believed was true. I read the Book of Mormon and I prayed about it and I had a witness that it was true. I always knew it was true but I had a confirmation from the Holy Ghost that made me realise that I knew that I knew it was true. I haven't seen angels or had visions but I know in my heart and in my mind that this is the Church of Jesus Christ. I know Heavenly Father has a plan for us and wants us to be happy. I know Jesus Christ has made it possible for us to overcome sin and death and be with our families forever. I know Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and that he was called to be a prophet. I know the Book of Mormon is true, and that we have a living prophet on the earth today. That simply is why I'm a Mormon. I know it's true, and I want to be with my family forever.

How I live my faith

I like to think what I believe is reflected in the way that I live all aspects of my life, whether that is in my home, my business, at a football match, or at church. My church responsibilities give me an opportunity to meet with people regularly, to hear their challenges and how they overcome them. It gives me an opportunity to serve and to strengthen them where I can. I love working with the youth and seeing their enthusiasm, and how they deal with the challenges of the world, and the standards that they live by. My faith gives me peace and hope for myself and for my family. I know that whatever life's challenges that through Jesus Christ all will be made right.
