Hi I'm Angela

I am a reader, a college graduate, a sorority sister, a missionary! And I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am leaving to serve a missionary for Jesus Christ in Michigan. I work as an Administrative Assistant. I graduated college in 2011 as an English major. I love reading very much. I was in a national sorority on my campus and I love all 74 of my sisters. My hobbies range from craft projects and playing piano to volleyball and basketball. I am 5 feet and 9 3/4 inches tall. I have a very calm personality and I am happy a lot of the time.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because it makes sense. I love that the church teaches truth and that it teaches that truth is important. People accuse religions and especially Mormons of following blindly but in fact we are encouraged to ask questions, investigate for ourselves, and take the matter to God. God is the source of all truth and light and the gospel teaches us those truths so that we may embrace his light.

How I live my faith

I try. And this is what the Lord asks of us, simply that we try, that we try our hardest and strive, that we make an effort, and I am trying. I attend church meetings on Sundays, and scripture study called Institute during the week, as well as different activities. I hold a position the young adult president in the women's auxilliary of the church called Relief Society. I read my scriptures and I pray frequently. I am learning to trust in the Lord and I have been greatly blessed.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

There is no Mormon lifestyle in the sense that everyone has to be baptized at the same age, and married before a certain time, or have a certain number of children. Mormons are incredibly different but what we all have in common is our belief in Christ and our love of God. We follow the teachings of the Word of Wisdom that revealed the dangers of alcohol and drugs as well as including instructions on the benefits of getting sleep and exercising properly. Also Mormons believe in the law of chasity which calls for not only waiting until marriage but also purity in deeds and thoughts. Show more Show less

What is the Relief Society?

The Relief Society is the church's established women's auxiliary organization that provides teaching and support for sisters and families throughout the world. The Relief Society not only includes scripture study meetings but also talent and skill building nights. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons believe in “eternal life?”

Eternal life refers to both the time before life on Earth and the time after. This idea is part of the Plan of Salvation that was revealed to Joseph Smith. The Plan of Salvation explains that we lived with God before the creation of this world in what was called the preexistence. Our life on Earth is part of God's plan as we face trials and triublations, all in order to return to him. Show more Show less
