Hi I'm Kevin

I'm a husband, father, and attorney. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been happily married for 10 years to my beautiful wife. I am the father of three wonderful boys, ages 8, 6, and 1. I am an attorney. I enjoy astronomy and science fiction.

Why I am a Mormon

I have attended the LDS church with my parents since I was a baby. When I was 14 years old, I began to question whether the things my parents had taught me all my life were true. I especially questioned the account of Joseph Smith's First Vision. I knew my parents wouldn't have tried to get me to believe something that was not true, but I wondered if perhaps my parents had been deceived. But I also knew how to discover the truth. I found a place where I could be alone and I asked God in prayer to tell me if Joseph Smith was really a prophet. I immediately felt great peace, and I knew in my heart that Joseph Smith was God's prophet and the Book of Mormon was true. I have had that testimony confirmed on numerous occasions since then as I participate in the Church and read the scriptures. I have no doubt that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord's true church on the earth. I know God has called a prophet to guide us today. The Book of Mormon has brought me closer to Jesus Christ. I am grateful to God for the blessings that have come to me and my family because I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to follow Christ's example in my daily life and help my family do same. Also, I am responsible for helping the Bishop of our congregation make sure that donations to the Church from local members are properly accounted for.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Kevin
When we are baptized, we make a covenant with God that we will follow the example of His Son. If we do so, God promises that our sins will be forgiven through Christ's atonement. Only someone who has proper authority from God can act in His name to make this covenant effective. When Christ wanted to be baptized, He sought out John the Baptist because John had the proper authority. Show more Show less
