Hi I'm Jacob

I love life. I lived in Spain for two years. I'm in the military. I work with the boy scouts. I'm not bored. Trust me.

About Me

I'm the ninth of eleven children. Big family, right? People are amazed and ask if I like being part of a big family. I ask them how can I not love it. It's wonderful to be part of a family as close as mine. I'm a college student. I love to play the piano, sing, and play the french horn. I recently joined the Air Force Reserve. It's already fun, and I hope to have more. I also work with the young men at church. As part of that, I am an assistant scoutmaster. The boys definitely keep me on my toes. I like to ride my bicycle and play backyard football with family and friends. I think it's very important to take care of your body. Eat well, lots of water, adequate sleep, exercise. I have a lot of fun doing it, except the running. I don't like running very much, but I do it. I speak Spanish after spending two years in Spain as a missionary. I love the language, the people and want to learn more. I love to read and study about the world. Learning new things is a passion of mine. Random facts are fun to pull out in the middle of a conversation. The blank stares make me laugh. My genealogy is very important to me. Family is the best, past, present, and I can't wait to start my own. That's a little about me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon, because I know that Jesus is my Savior. He set forth a safe path back to Him and our Heavenly Father. My Father in Heaven has shown me through His love and His Spirit that I can find true happiness by following the teachings of His Son Jesus Christ. I have found His teachings in the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and through the voice of His modern prophets. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has the answers to big questions in life. It never seizes to amaze me when I find the solution to a problem or concern of mine while reading in the Bible or Book of Mormon. These are the words of a God who loves His children. I have found true happiness, fulfillment, and purpose in life by living the Gospel of Christ. You can, too. It is so much fun. Wow.

How I live my faith

I live my faith as a journey back home- home to my God, my Father in Heaven. I love to study the Gospel by reading and pondering the scriptures everyday before work. I live my life according to my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I try my hardest to follow His teachings and His chosen servants, here on the earth. I have tried it and tried it again. It never fails to bring me peace and help me succeed on whatever I am doing. Living the Gospel of Jesus Christ makes me very happy.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

I love missionary work. The least I can do for my God, and His children, is to share the knowledge that I have of His holy Son Jesus Christ. I know that Christ lives, and that He gives me all the peace and strength that I need in this life. I want to share that with everyone. I try to find every opportunity to share the message of peace to those who are in need of such. Serving a mission in Spain is one of the memorable times of my life. Not everyone is able to serve, for one reason or another. Nonetheless, I stand with the prophets who say that every worthy, able, young man should serve a mission. I urge all who have felt the sweet joy of the Gospel in their life, to pray in order to receive an answer, from God, about the sacred opportunity of serving a mission, and sharing the greatest message of all time- that is of Jesus Christ. What is being a Mormon like?

I love it. It's so much fun. I know exactly what life is about. I'm trying to find joy, and I find it in keeping the commandments that I have learned from the scriptures and modern-day prophets. Every day is an adventure. One of my favorite scriptures that really expresses how I feel about life is from the Book of Mormon: "Men are that they might have joy" (2 Nephi 2:25). That's why I live. I also enjoy serving others in the church and in the community. Seeing the difference in people's lives makes all service worth it. "And of some have compassion, making a difference."
