Hi I'm Ron

I'm a Mormon. The decision to be baptized a Mormon is the best decision of my life.

About Me

I am a very happily married father of 5 and grandfather of two. I was baptized as a Mormon when I was 19 years old. I served in the United States Navy. I also served an LDS mission to Japan. I have a degree in Accounting and work as a community college administrator. Our oldest son is a Sonar Technician in the US Navy. He is married and they have two wonderful daughters. Our middle son just returned from serving a two-year Church mission to the people of Armenia - he is now attending college at Brigham Young University. We have a younger son and two adopted daughters who are now in high school. I love reading history and ocean sailing. Besides being a Mormon, I'm a sailor - I sail...

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because when I was in high school, my best friend introduced me to the Church. I was taught by Mormon missionaries and read the Book of Mormon. I prayed to Heavenly Father to know whether or not the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the Church of God on earth and received a positive answer to that prayer. Since joining the Church, I have gained the following witness - First and foremost, I know that we all are children of our Father in Heaven and that we are created in his likeness and image. Second, I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and our elder brother. I know that God the Father sent his Son to earth, to walk amongst us, to share with us the principles of the gospel and to establish his Church. I know that Jesus Christ is our Saviour, that he died for our sins on the cross and was resurrected to continue his ministry on his father’s right hand. I testify that God the Father and Jesus Christ called and set apart Joseph Smith for the purpose of reestablishing the Church on the earth after it’s long absence. I know that God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him and that they provided the means by which – through the power of the Holy Ghost – he could translate the Book of Mormon. I know the Book of Mormon to be the word of God and with the Bible, another testament of Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith was called as the first prophet of this dispensation. Since then, we have been led by modern-day prophets of God. I support and sustain Thomas S. Monson as the prophet of God on earth today. Finally, I have a testimony of the importance of reverencing our Father in Heaven and all His Creations.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving individuals and families in our congregation - helping minister to their needs. I also have Church assignments for coordinating welfare services and family and emergency preparedness in our local area.

Can husband and wife be together forever? Do you believe that families will live together in heaven?

Ron
Husbands and wives and their children can live together forever - not just during their time on earth. The promise of eternal life is made possible by a loving Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ. By following Jesus' example and living our lives as best we can, and by participating in sacred rites or ceremonies like the marriage ceremony performed in our temples, we can live forever in the company of immediate families but also, in the company of ancestors who have gone before and those who will follow.
