Hi I'm Joshua Douglas

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a son, a brother, and a friend. I am the oldest of six children. I have two wonderful parents. I was always involved in theater and choir in high school. I love to sing, dance, and act. I love to laugh, play hard, and have fun. I am a good actor. For a long time, I hid how I felt. While I appeared happy, I was really aching inside. I was aching for someone to care about me. I wanted to be happy - really happy. I found everything I wanted an more in the Lord Jesus Christ. Through His atonement (when he suffered for our sins and sorrows) I was healed. I found happiness and an eternal friend. Because I now know who I am, I try to help others remember who they are and try to make their day a bit brighter than before I met them. I know what it’s like to feel left out. I know what it’s like to feel alone in a crowd. I know what its like to be hurt. I know the joy that Jesus Christ offers. I'm a son, a brother, and a friend. My name is Josh and I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church, I chose to be baptized, and I lived the life. I grew up living in a strong Latter Day Saint home. I know - independent of anyone else - that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints it is the true church of Jesus Christ restored to the earth. I know that - despite my mistakes - that I can be completely forgiven and healed through the Lord Jesus Christ. I know that it is true so deeply, that I chose to serve a mission and take my testimony to the world. However, I didn’t always know this. There was a time in my life where I made mistakes, as we all have, and I no longer had the peace that comes through living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I made bad choices, as we all have, and I had locked myself in a dark room, and I had thrown away the key. I was lost forever... or so I thought. Through His goodness and mercy, I was healed through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. I made some changes. Some were easier than others. Through Him, I not only found the key, but the door to life and light!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving as a full time missionary for the church. This means that I dont go to school, spend time with friends or family, and I devote all day every day for two years telling other people about what I believe and why I believe it.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Joshua Douglas
A mission is not required for membership in the Church. It is an individual choice. All who want to serve a mission and who live the Gospel are welcome to apply to serve a mission. There are a few pre-requisites. First, you have to be a member in full fellowship (meaning that you are active in the church). Second, you have to want to go and be willing to give up 18 months - 2 years of your life. Third, you have to be 19 for young men and 21 for young women and you have to healthy. The work is the most physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually difficult and rewarding that anyone could ever hope for. I recommend it! Show more Show less
