Hi I'm Tami

I'm a wife, a mom, a simple girl and I love being a mormon!

About Me

I moved a lot when I was growing up but my family finally settled in Utah when I was 13. I graduated from college in 2007 with a teaching degree and got married 3 weeks later. I taught Jr. High school for 2 years and quit to be a stay at home mom. I love being a mom and a wife. I enjoy being creative though crafting, photography, and sewing among other things. I love to read, spend time with family and eat!

Why I am a Mormon

I love belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! The main reason that I love it is because it brings me true joy and peace. I love knowing that I am a daughter of God and that he has a plan for me. I love knowing that I can be with my family forever if I do my best to follow that plan. I love feeling my Savior's love and knowing that he died for me and that I can be forgiven of my mistakes if I do my part. I love that each of us can know the truth for ourselves. You don't have to just believe what someone else says. By the Holy Spirit each person can gain their own convictions! How awesome is that!

How I live my faith

I have the awesome opportunity to work with the young women in my ward ages 12 - 18. I love it! We have weekly activities on Tuesdays and a special class with them during our weekly Sunday meetings. These beautiful girls teach me so much and it is so rewarding to serve them. It has helped me grow closer to my Heavenly Father as I work with them. I also am a visiting teacher. As a visiting teacher, I visit two other ladies in my ward a minimum of once a month. Me and my partner/companion share a short gospel message with them and help them with any needs they may I have. I learn so much from them as well and I am so grateful to be able to get to know them.

How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

Tami
The Bible is a collection of records kept by God's prophets from Adam through Christ's death. Every time God calls a prophet, He has them keep records. God calls prophets to teach His children the Gospel because He loves His children. We know that God loves all His children and wherever people would accept the Gospel, God called prophets. The Book of Mormon is records kept by God's prophets in the Americas. Nephi was the first prophet to write in the Book of Mormon. The records were passed down through the years until the prophet Mormon received them. He abridged many of the records and then passed them onto his son, Moroni. Under Gods direction, Moroini hide them in the ground so that no one could find them and destroy them. Many years later, God directed Joseph Smith to know where to find the records. He was able to translate them into English and now we are able to have another testament of Christ in addition to the Bible. As I read the Book of Mormon I know that it is true. I get a warm, comforting feeling from the Spirit that testifies to me that it is true. It teaches us of Christ and helps us be better people. Show more Show less
