Hi I'm Derek

I grew up in the USA. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my sweetheart for 11 years and we have 4 wonderful children. We enjoy doing things together as a family, such as hiking and camping, working in the yard, and watching movies.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the church, but I continue to follow the teachings of the living prophet and apostles because I know it is what the Lord wants me to do. I am grateful that I was able to find my beloved wife and that we can be together forever. I believe that raising my children with the principles and morals taught in the church will help them throughout their lives, as it has helped me. I know that God loves me and wants what is best for me.

How I live my faith

My family and I are active participants in the church. I assist with the men's organizations and my wife leads the youth programs for the young women in our area. We find it challenging at times to balance our time and schedules, but we feel it is what the Lords wants us to do and we know we are blessed through our service.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

I believe the purpose of organized religion is to help it's member become better people. In our church, this is accomplished by allowing the members to server each other. Service is one of the best ways to gain love for our fellow men. By not having a paid clergy, we all have the chance to serve, and no one is esteemed higher than another. Show more Show less
