Hi I'm Amanda

I love sports, crafts, cooking, and reading. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely LOVE to read. Books take me to another world and to places I only dream about. My life would be empty without Disney movies. My family and I are Disney fanatics! We love to get quotes off of movies. My cousin and I have a "quote book" that we use as our journal. It is of certain times in our lives, and of quotes in movies we see. It's easier for us to record moments in time than recording days and months. I have a loving husband, a great job, and an amazing family. I couldn't ask for more.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, so I didn't have the "missionary knocking on my door" experience, but I still had to find out if the church was true on my own. Even though I was baptized at the age of 8, and grew up in the church, I didn't fully have a testimony until I was 14. I read the Book of Mormon completely through, pondered on what I read, and then prayed about it. The feeling I felt after is why I am a Mormon. I know that there is a Heavenly Father who loves me and knows me. I have a brother, who was willing to die on the cross for me so that I can return to live with him one day. The gospel is true, and I am thankful every day that I am a part of it.

How I live my faith

I am over helping teach sisters in our small little branch. This calling has helped me grow TREMENDOUSLY. I'm only 21, and having the responsibility of this calling has helped me learn things about the gospel I never understood or thought of before. That's what I love about this gospel. There's ALWAYS more to learn.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

You gain understanding and peace. Not only are your reading a history of your ancestors, they recorded their stories for you to read. They gave us advice and help to guide us in this crazy time. I am always comforted when I read the scriptures. It helps me understand why I'm here, and helps me with any problems I'm dealing with at the time. Show more Show less
