Hi I'm Mike

I was in the Air Force for seven years and now have a family of five and work as a test engineer in Huntsville Alabama.

About Me

I am a dad and husband. My wife and I have been married for almost 16 years. We have 5 children to include 4 boys and a girl. I enjoy running and playing just about any sport. I am an avid sports fan and follow any sports team from Colorado. We have recently gotten more excited about watching Hockey as our oldest son is now playing in the youth leagues in our town. Family time is important to me and I make sure my personal interest or work do not get in the way of teaching and being with my children.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints helped me gain a testimony at an early age. My mom was real strong in the church and my Dad always set a wonderful example to me. When I turned 18 I started to question my faith more and more. I knew that if I was to serve a mission for the Mormon church I had better Know it is true. I read the Book of Mormon searching for answers. I had always been taught if you want to know the answer to a question, ask Heavenly Father and he will give you that answer through the Holy Ghost. I still remember the night I got on my knees to ask if the Church was true. This was the night I wet my pillow with tears as the Holy Ghost confirmed to my mind and heart it was all true. At that moment I could not deny my prayer had been answered and the gospel I had always known was true!

How I live my faith

I am currently working in the High Priest Quorum as an assistant to the Group Leader. We ensure other brothers in our group or taken care of and assisted both temporally and spiritually. I have recently been working as the Assistant Cub master for the Cub Scouts in our ward. This is a great calling and I love working with youth.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

We believe that without grace we cannot be saved in the Kingdom of God. Heavenly Father also expects us to exercise our faith by being baptized in His church and keep the commandments throughout our life. Remember having Faith in Jesus Christ is only the beginning. The Grace of or Lord and Savior is given after all we can do. Show more Show less
