Hi I'm Zach

I am a designer, I am a surfer, I am a husband and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the Founder & Creative Director of Bright Oak, an international creative and marketing agency. When I am not glued to my Mac Pro, you can find me surfing up and down the California coast or spending hours in the garage playing Ping Pong.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints because of the testimony I gained of the Book of Mormon and it's divinity. After years of inactivity, there was a dramatic & life changing event that helped me realize that we indeed have a loving Father in Heaven who knows all of his children by name, and is willing and waiting to help each of them as they reach out to him through faith, repentance and a desire to do what is right. Because of my experiences and the road that I took back to activity, I came to know that Joseph Smith was the prophet called in these latter-days to restore the Church that Christ himself established during his earthly ministry.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as the Mission Leader for our congregation. My job is to help organize the missionary efforts for all of our members and to work seamlessly with the full time missionaries that are assigned to our congregation. I get the opportunity to go out with our full time missionaries and teach investigating families about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how it can help unite and bless their family and ultimately strengthen their personal relationship with God. It is a wonderful opportunity, as I get to relive those years spent in the mission field...without having to wake up at 630am.

How does the Church finance its operations?

Zach
From the moment Adam and Eve were driven out of Eden, we have been taught about the principle of tithing. Of course we are no longer asked to sacrifice the firstlings of our flocks, but tithing is the practice by which individuals give 10% of all their increase back to the Lord. This money is than sent to Church Headquarters and evenly distributed throughout the world to help pay for new church buildings, temples, missionary expenses and many other civic and public affairs. All leadership and other assignments made within our congregations are performed by volunteers who live in the congregational boundaries. Show more Show less
