Hi I'm Jamie

I'm a wife and mother of 4. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Southern California. I love the beach, boating, snowboarding, running--and being outside. I play the piano, like to cook, like to read and learn, and love to be organized! I went to college and graduated with a masters in accounting. After graduating, I started working at a CPA firm, and then met my sweetheart. We have been married for almost 8 years. I now am a stay-at-home mom to my 4 beautiful children. They are my joy and my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of this church my whole life. I was raised by wonderful parents who exemplified the gospel of Jesus Christ in their lives. I grew up in a home full of love and have had a love of my Savior from childhood. I love Jesus Christ. I know He is my personal Savior. I know He lives-that He suffered and died and that He was resurrected. I know because of His Atonement we will all be resurrected-and live forever. I know that because of His Atonement we can all repent and do better! The gospel of Jesus Christ helps me to be better. I want to do better. I want to follow His example.

How I live my faith

As a member of the church, I currently help serve the teenaged girls in our ward. Each Sunday I prepare a lesson to teach the girls that will be applicable to their individual needs in helping them stay close to the teachings of Jesus Christ. We also meet once a week for activities-we do service projects, cook, make crafts, learn new skills, and have fun! I love those girls! As a member of our church, we all have so many opportunities to help and support each other. When the Savior was on the earth, He taught us to love and serve. I am so grateful these attributes are so clearly a part of His church on the earth today. As we work together to come unto Christ, there is love and unity and peace.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Jamie
Being chaste is a principle that the Savior has always taught. Modesty is essential to helping us maintain our personal chastity. It is so easy to get caught up in current styles and trends--and forget the sacredness of our bodies. I like to look cute and attractive, but not at the expensive of being immodest. We need to teach the youth of today how to be classy, how to properly attract the opposite sex, and have fun and enjoy each other--without our bodies being the center of attention. As parents, we should be leading by example. As mothers, if we want our daughters to be modest-WE must be modest. Show more Show less
