Hi I'm Nancy

I'm a Mormon. I'm a wife, a mother and a writer.

About Me

I have been married to my husband for over 30 years. We have four grown children. When my children were young I was a full-time mother. I'm also a writer. I've been published in newspapers, magazines and authored two books. Now that our children are grown, we like to travel. I love to be with people.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a child I always knew I have a Heavenly Father and was thankful for Jesus Christ who I knew to be my older brother and Savior. I did not feel the churches I attended were complete. I prayed and searched for the true church. I learned about many religions, but was not satisfied with all the answers I got to my questions. There were many truths in my heart I knew I must find. Then, when I was 18 I went to Idaho for the summer. While I was there the young adults in Idaho Falls were excited to share their church with me. I went to the temple visitor's center and saw a movie about Joseph Smith and learned the Gospel of Jesus Christ had been restored. He translated The Book of Mormon, giving us more scriptures. I learned we have a living prophet and apostles. That Christ had come to America. I found out about the Priesthood and the ordinances that were available to us. I learned I could be baptized by one who had the authority from God, that families could be together forever, that those who died without hearing the gospel could still be taught and receive all of the blessings. It was as if I'd heard it all before. I knew the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the church with the fullness of the gospel I had been looking for. I prayed and asked the Lord to confirm this and He did. I was baptized and received the Gift of the Holy Ghost. I met a wonderful man and we were married for eternity. I am so thankful for the blessings of the gospel in my life.

How I live my faith

I keep the commandments. I read my scriptures. I pray often. I love Heavenly Father, myself, my family and neighbors. I attend the temple. I honor the priesthood and fulfill my callings. I love to listen to, watch and ponder General Conference. I pray for opportunities to do missionary work.
