Hi I'm Kristin

I'm Canadian. I'm a scientist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband & I are both students in university. I'm studying clinical laboratory science & want to work in a hospital one day. I love to experiment with make-up, nail polish & anything else beauty related.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born & raised in an LDS family & I am so grateful for that. I was able to have the strength & direction that this gospel provides me with for my entire life. I have come to a knowledge that this church is true. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that living by its precepts & doing what our Heavenly Father asks of us will bring me true happiness. I know that a prophet of God leads this church in our modern day. I am so grateful for all of the blessings being a member of the LDS church has brought into my life, especially being able to be sealed for eternity to my husband. But most of all, I have a real & personal relationship with my Saviour, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I strive every day to be a better person than I was the day before. Does that mean that I am always successful? No. But that is one of the greatest things that I have been taught being a member of this church. We believe that our Saviour Jesus Christ is always there for us. He has infinite love for all of us as children of God. We can always turn to Him for more help or comfort if we are struggling. Christ is always there to lift us and buoy us & to show us the path that we can return to Him. I live my faith by doing the basics-praying daily, reading scriptures, attending church meetings each week, attending the temple & serving others. & over time, I know that these acts will bring me closer to my Heavenly Father, my Saviour Jesus Christ & allow me to have added measures of the Holy Ghost to guide me.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Kristin
Modesty is the respect of our own bodies. Chastity is the respect for the sacred power given to our physical bodies to create new life. Our physical bodies are sacred, special gifts given to us by our Heavenly Father. Being both modest & chaste allows us to show our respect for these amazing creations. By treating our bodies with respect, we are also showing our Heavenly Father our devotion & gratitude for the blessings He has given us. Chastity is also important in showing that we believe in the sanctity of life. Chastity also allows families to be created in the proper framework-meaning children born to a legally wedded husband & wife. Parents can teach their children to be modest by explaining how important our physical bodies are & explaining that they are given to us by God. Show more Show less
