Hi I'm Ashlee

I teach high school math to students with learning disabilities. I volunteer in the community. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from college in special education and teach math at a local high school. I will start my Master's program in a year. I enjoy volleyball, football, softball and soccer. I'm training for a half marathon. In high school I was involved in theater and choir. I enjoy traveling and have a goal of visiting every state in the United States. I travel a lot with my family; I have 4 siblings, 2 of which are married, 2 nephews, and also my mom and dad. I'm learning American Sign Language and Spanish.

Why I am a Mormon

I feel fortunate enough to have been born to parents who are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who are true followers of Jesus Christ. Because of their example and teachings, I grew to love my Savior, Jesus Christ, and Heavenly Father. I gradually gained a testimony that the Church is true and continue to strengthen my testimony daily. I know Joseph Smith restored the gospel and translated the Book of Mormon. The teachings found in this book are true and I know because I've read it and prayed earnestly to know they are true. The Book of Mormon truly testifies of Jesus Christ and his atoning sacrifice.

How I live my faith

I strive to be a true follower of Jesus Christ by participating in my ward. I serve in my church by working specifically with the women. I teach lessons centered on gospel principles, arrange activities to help the women grow closer to our Heavenly Father, and visit specific sisters in need. I visit teach a few different women in the ward, which means I share spiritual messages with them and offer care in any way needed. I arrange and delegate responsibilities to other members in the ward. I volunteer in the community by tutoring elementary-age Hispanic students on basic math, reading, and spelling skills. I also teach them piano lessons. Often the ward will arrange for service activities in the community, such as park clean ups and canned food drives, which I enjoy participating in.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

The more we know about Jesus Christ the more our faith increases. We can learn about Jesus Christ by studying his life and his teachings, found in the scriptures. When we learn of Jesus Christ and what he expects of us, we are obedient to the commandments and our faith increases. Also, when we pray for help in increasing our faith, the Lord will grant this to us through our diligence in seeking for truth. Show more Show less
