Hi I'm C.J.

I was raised a Southern Baptist in Missouri. I'm an author and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a published author, a speaker/presenter, and have performed as a storyteller for children in libraries, schools, and festivals. I also enjoy music and art, so I guess I just love the arts! But what really defines me are my relationships. I am deeply in love with my husband and children and grandchildren. They are my greatest joys in life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was very active in my church, but I still felt empty and didn't know why. After my first year of college I found myself on a quest, visiting other churches. But nothing filled the void or answered the "what is missing from my life?" question. Not until I decided to corner to return missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. To my astonishment, as they answered my questions, the emptiness was not only gone, but a feeling I had never known before took its place, and with undeniable certainty, I knew that this was what I had been searching for all along. Despite all the false preconceived ideas I had about this church, I could not deny the confirmation that was infused into my whole being. I knew and know that this is the restored church of my Lord and Savior.

How I live my faith

I have been a member of the church for nearly thirty years now. I have been a teacher for children, youth, and adults, and have loved it! I have been a leader over a women's and young women's organization. I've helped organize activities and service, and have found great peace and purpose in doing so. I have also been a storyteller for schools, festivals, and libraries. As a published author, I give creative writing presentations, and strive to share my light with others. Above all else, I live my faith by giving my heart and time to my husband and children!

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

C.J.
Though I've known various people who have been drawn to the church for differing reasons, the core of their pursuit, as was mine, is a questing and a hungering for purpose and sense of identy and self worth. Show more Show less
