Hi I'm Lauren N

I grew up in Southern California. Now I am away from home studying speech pathology in college. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student studying communication disorders (speech pathology) and minoring in gerontology. Figuring out my academic and career goal was not an easy and quick process. One song in our hymnal that helped me through this process is "Lead Kindly Light". These few lines, in particular, stood out to me: "I loved to choose and see my path; but now, Lead thou me on." Being a planner, it was hard to be unsure of what I wanted to do with my life. It is hard to create a plan when I do not know what direction to go. Answers were slow to come and did not come all at once. "Keep thou my feet; I do not ask to see the distant scene--one step enough for me." My faith was strengthened through this process. Answers came little by little. Looking back, I can see how I was guided along the way. More opportunities have come because I trusted in the Lord and allowed Him to direct me.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They consistently took me to church and read to me from the scriptures. Up until my high school years, I borrowed their testimony. Then I felt the desire and need to find my own testimony. Through personal scripture study, pondering, and prayer, I came to know for myself that I believed the teachings of this Church. My testimony continues to grow as I continue to learn and understand more of the doctrine. The gospel brings peace, happiness, and direction to my life.

How I live my faith

I am a secretary for the women's group in my church. Part of my responsibility is to make sure the sisters are accounted for and looked after. We are there to serve each other and strengthen our friendships.
