Hi I'm Cathy

I'm a college graduate from a tiny town in Texas. I love swimming, hiking, and dancing to loud music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the third child of seven. I have one brother, and he's the baby of the family. I love anything that has to do with outside. I love taking random walks and just enjoying the environment (even if it's the middle of winter). I enjoy crafting of all kinds, but my first passion was, and still is, cross stitch. I have a very creative mind as well. I'm good at planning, decorating, and designing. I love my friends, and wouldn't think of doing anything fun without at least three of them. But I still need time to myself sometimes. I like doing puzzles, reading, and napping.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the covenant, which means that my parents were members of the Church when I was born. Although, I am a convert, all the same. When I was 17, the president of the church at the time, President Hinckley, challenged every member all over the world to read the Book of Mormon by the end of the year. I would take my copy to school with me and read whenever I had a spare moment. I would mark passages that had profound meaning for me, and would ponder and pray about them at the end of the day. When I was finished, I got on my knees and prayed to know if the things that I had read were true. I remember feeling the strongest impression of peace and love that I had felt up to that point in my life. I knew that the Spirit of the Lord was testifying to me that the Book of Mormon was true and the teachings found inside were of the Lord and would be for my benefit for the rest of my life. I'm now 23 years old. I've had stumbling blocks since then, but I've tried to live my life and will continue to live my life in ways that would keep me worthy to feel that peace and love that comes from the Spirit.

How I live my faith

Honestly, I just live! We're normal people, we Mormons. I don't have a family of my own, but I do have my own life. And I plan on living it. I've done things like plan activities for major holidays and for times where we just needed to have fun. I conduct music for our meetings. I sing for friends, for service, and for fun. I've been a teacher. I taught Sunday school for numerous ages, and I loved every minute of it. I also make a point to visit with and teach my friends and fellows in the church. Most of the time, I just live like there is always someone watching me.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

We love to serve. We don't mind who needs help. We just know that we were given two hands, two legs, and strength to move them. We also believe that as we serve others we are acting on the Lord's behalf and in His name. So, we help whenever and whoever we can doing whatever needs to be done. Show more Show less
