Hi I'm Ryan.

I'm a father of 3 girls. I work for a hotel investment company. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Ryan. I am a father of 3 beautiful daughters, with another girl on the way. Despite my love for sports, I often find myself with my girls playing with dolls and commenting on how cute they look in their princess clothes...and there is nothing I'd rather be doing.

Why I am a Mormon

For me, there is no question in the world that can be more important than "Why am I a Mormon." I have a found through consistant study and prayer that there is a plan for each of us as God's children. The cental figure in this plan is Jesus Christ. Through my membership in this Church, I have found that each principle I am taught gives me direction to draw nearer to the Savior. I am a Mormon because this is where I have found the Gospel of Jesus Christ in its fulness.

How I live my faith

Faith is a living thing that requires constant nourishment. I have found that one of the best ways to nourish my faith is through personal and family scripture study and prayer and weekly church attendance. I love the Book of Mormon. No other book helps me live my faith more than the that great book. In addition to my own study, as a Mormon I have been given many opportunities to provide church and community service. Every month I am able to visit other church members as a home teacher. Throughout the years I have also spent time teaching the young children during Sunday school, serving as a full-time missionary and spending time with the young single adults as one of their leaders. Being engaged in service helps me to feel the love that God has for all His children.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Ryan.
One of the biggest misconceptions of the Book of Mormon is that Joseph Smith wrote the book; he didn't write the book. Joseph Smith played the most critical role in bringing the Book of Mormon forward by translating it from ancient records. The Book of Mormon was written by ancient prophets who lived on the American continent. You will read about teachings from prophets such as Nephi, Mosiah, Alma, Helaman, Moroni, among others. In fact, Mormon was one of the prophets who wrote in the Book of Mormon. In addition to authoring a section of the book, Mormon also was charged with abridging the record of these various prophets which spanned over a 1,000 years (600 BC to 400 AD)...hence the name "Book of Mormon". The pinnacle moment in the Book of Mormon is when Jesus Christ visited the people on the American continent after His death and resurrection. This literally fulfilled His teaching that there are "other sheep which are not of this fold." Show more Show less
