Hi I'm Elaine

I was born in San Francisco. I grew up near Washington DC. I love living on the coast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a stay at home Mom with three kids. Between shuttling the kids to soccer, scouts, baseball, gymnastics, dance, and swim lessons, I enjoy scrapbooking, card making, sewing, and dancing. I also enjoy exercising, playing volleyball, cooking and baking. I love watching home improvement shows and putting those ideas into practice on our home. I have traveled to Taiwan several times. The first time was with my family and then I returned when I was in college to study Mandarin Chinese. I had the opportunity to meet many wonderful people there and hope one day to return and visit.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into a Mormon family, I had to find out for myself if what I was being taught was true. Through prayerful study and spiritual experiences I gained a testimony that the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are true. I have felt the calm peaceful assurance that Heavenly Father loves us and has a plan of happiness for us to follow to return to Him. I know that Jesus Christ is my brother and that He died for our sins, for my sins. I know that if I can learn to apply His Atonement in my life, I will be happy. I have felt the strong, overwhelming feeling of love that my Heavenly Father has for me. Everyday I count on my testimony and faith to get me through the day.

How I live my faith

Every week I go with my family to church. We meet with our local ward. I also volunteer as a Wolf Den Leader in the cub scout program sponsored by the church. Our Den meets every week. I also enjoy helping with emergency preparedness awareness. I organized a community meeting in which a representative from our city came to speak about being prepared for a disaster.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Elaine
Joseph Smith was a prophet of the Lord just like Adam, Abraham, Moses, Daniel and all the other prophets mentioned in the Bible. The Lord's church was restored to Joseph Smith in the Latter Days. Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon, a record of the ancient Americans. Show more Show less
