Hi I'm Chris.

I'm a student. I'm married. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently in graduate school studying for my Ph.D. in mathematics. I am married with no kids. My hobbies include sports, especially basketball, music, books, and languages.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by Mormon parents, so I have gone to the church ever since I was little. I can remember even from an early age as I attended church feeling a warm, comforting feeling. As I grew older, my appreciation for the church matured. To this day, I can feel with a strong conviction that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true.

How I live my faith

I pray every day. I study the scriptures every day to gain a better understanding of the gospel. I go to church every week and pitch in my part to support the wonderful work that is done there. Above all, I try to follow God in doing the things I think He would want me to do and in being the person I think He would want me to be. I am by no means perfect, but I do my best.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

No, the Mormon Church does not endorse political parties or individual candidates. For example, in the United States, there are Mormons in congress in both the Republican party and the Democratic party. It does, however, reserve the right to speak out on specific issues. That being said, it does so rarely. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Christ died for our sins so that we can be forgiven of the mistakes we make. This is grace. However, we can't just do whatever we want and then be forgiven. If this were true, then the Bible and all of its commandments would be irrelevant. Plus, we wouldn't be any better people if we kept sinning. What Mormons believe is that we need to do our best to follow Christ so that He can "save" us completely.  The Book of Mormon says "it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do."
