Hi I'm Kelly

I'm a wife. I'm an engineer. I'm a mother. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a graduate of Brigham Young University with a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering. I am a wife, and a mother of one son and one baby on the way! My husband and I live near Los Angeles. I played the trombone, trumpet and french horn in high school, but recently I pretty much just play the piano. I like to do things on the computer, and to garden. I enjoy working with the young women ages 12-18 in the church.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both members of the church, and as such I grew up gong to the Mormon church. As I grew older, I knew that I needed to discover for myself if this church was true or not, as I knew it would be a big part of my life if it was. I took Moroni's challenge to read the Book of Mormon and discover for myself. When I prayed to Heavenly Father, I was filled with His spirit, and I knew then that the Book of Mormon was true and was given from God. I knew that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that God loved me as an individual. I knew then that I was making the right choice to stay in the church, and the correctness of that has been confirmed to me over and over again. The church has truly blessed my life and I am so grateful to be a member.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church meetings every Sunday. I get to work with the youth of our church, which includes going to activities every Wednesday night, in addition to the Sunday meetings.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Mormons believe in the bible for the same simple reason other Christians do: it's the word of God. It testifies of Jesus Christ and his atonement in both the Old and New Testaments. That is where we learn of God's love for us, His children. We also believe that the church that Christ established on the Earth as found in the New Testament has been restored here on Earth today.
